Our client built the granny flat for a family member in the gardens of thier home. On their first meeting with Multidwell they brought a sketch showing their vision, which we worked to achieve.

Multidwell's MD was very accommodating to our unusual design and bent over backwards to make our initial sketches turn into a reality. During construction Multidwells’ workers generally rang to advise when they would be in attendance and in most cases did what they said they were going to. In the end the construction period took longer than we thought that this was due to a number of circumstances outside of Multidwells’ control such as rainy days, design changes and waiting times associated with special orders. By and large we were highly satisfied with the efforts made to accommodate our every need.

Our client, based on the Bilgola Plateua on Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches, approached us wanting to deliver a home for their parents. They wanted to build a secondary dwelling that would fit in with the existing residence, as well as the natural landscape of the area.
They decided on our flagship Platinum model, incorporating a cathedral ceiling with recycled Australian hardwood beams, wooden entrance door, timber-look tile flooring and quality fitted kitchen.
As with the majority of blocks in the local council areas, the land was fully compliant with state government legislation meaning NO APPROVAL is required from council to build these secondary units.
The unit was accessed through a separate entrance running down the side of the property, making it ideal for maximising potential rental income as well as for accommodating family members and guests. The finish of the unit was rendered and coloured to blend in with the existing main house.
As this was a fairly flat and accessible block, the time on site was only 10 weeks, and we were able to deliver a finished, fully occupiable dwelling within 16 weeks of the contract being signed.
